Redecorating a living room can be a surprisingly fun thing to do so for a lot of different reasons. A living room is one of them. Finding a new design, a different look or an accent color can just be your way to invite potential clients to your home so the kitchen, the dining room or even the bedroom are basically the places where you can go to take a refresh from your friends. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. A simple paint scheme can have an incredible effect and can have even the smallest effect on your home’s look and atmosphere.
There are several different shades of red that you can choose to use. A satin red that is bright and cheerful will set the tone of the whole room. Bold reds are a bit too vivid so take the opposite shade and paint multiple ones to create a stronger look. Here, several red accent pillows or an even number of throw pillows highlight the theme.
This is a similar idea but uses a slightly different color scheme. However, this is a shade that doesn’t really say sexy and chic. It’s a shade that’s a bit more elegant and sophisticated and feels less busy and girlish. At the same time, it’s also a shade that can easily transition into masculine nuances.
This is a fresh accent color that can be used in combination with white but also other dark colors. The white accent walls create the impression of a much brighter space and the color looks wonderful in combination with the light wooden flooring and other wooden details. Of course, you can always paint the ceiling to make it look more interesting.
We love the idea of using red as an accent color in small spaces. The effect can be stunning and often very simple but it’s also fresh and beautiful. This elegant bedroom is a perfect example to illustrate this idea. It has a white and red accent wall that looks exceptionally well. The curtains are a colorful addition and almost everything is complemented by red and yellow accessories.
Here we have another contemporary bedroom but the main color used is blue. This time we have a black and white theme. This is also a nice way to get a beach-inspired look without introducing a vibrant color. The black and white details are balanced out by the warm wood features and the turquoise accent wall and accessory furniture.
If your bedroom is big enough, you could go with a sunburst effect as shown here. The white and black window print is also very stylish and will enlarge the room, not to mention it’s a bold and eye-catching choice for any bedroom. The turquoise accessories and bedding go really well together too and the chandelier is also really chic and stylish.
We admit that there’s no rule you should only use turquoise in the bedroom. If you’re not the type who doesn’t enjoy the boldness of the color, then use it on the other walls for a similar effect. A striped ceiling light and a blue Murphy bed can be complemented by a striped floor lamp and an abstract painting displayed on the wall. Other shades of turquoise could include the solids, the light shade and the pattern.
Of course, there’s no rule which you have to only use turquoise in the bedroom. If you’re bold even further achy colors like blue and yellow, then use turquoise as an accent tone. A beach-inspired bedroom could look really chic with both turquoise and blue elements and the wall behind the bed should be highlighted with some blue touches.
There’s not much you could do with an empty wall, except use whatever brightens your mood when you have a space like this. Well, after you’ve thoroughly done all the decorating part, you can relax and enjoy a walk, sail, swim and walk, basically letting the space know that you’re not alone. So what do you think? Are you indifferent or inspired? Some things are better than others.
