This lovely house can be found in Washington, DC and has a very simple but very interesting interior design. It was a project designed by Maria Lorenzano Design and it was just completed in 2010. The house was built in 2004 so it was a while until the beginning of 2012 after which it all started to take shape. The house sits on a corner lot which presented problems but also presented difficulties. The clients had to respect the environment and the site and to try to make it happen.
The house was organized on two floors connected by a glass extension that offers a total of 8 feet of living space across two stories. The glass extension also offers 180 degree views of the surrounding area and the adjacent woods. The street-facing façade of the house is very minimalist. It features clean and simple lines and a neutral color palette. The interior of the house is also simple but has some elements that give it an international look. These colors also give it a modern look. The house is organized on two floors. The ground level contains a large living room that opens onto the courtyard. Here there’s also a dining space with a small kitchen. On the first floor there’s also a studio area and the master bedroom. The rest of the spaces are filled with light.
