The Anantara Dhigu Villa is a lovely contemporary home located on Swimming Creek, Maldives. It’s a very beautiful vacation home with a great beach and lagoon views. It was built in 2010 and it was designed by a 5- people team that was formed of Dr. Bukit Prabao, WWF, LEVO (level 1), Ecquival (level 2 and 3), Anita Hall, HydropLAN (level 4 and 5), Anita Panton, and Mood Sugar. The villa is a mix of styles. The main influences are mainly the modern and minimalist ones, with simple lines and sharp angles.
The façade is covered with seeded glass panels. As for the windows, they are all large glass panels with a coconut silk wallpaper on them. The walls and ceilings are also covered with laths and flat screens. A large portion of this total glass panels is solid oriented so it works with the orientation and the low seasonal heat. The panels create a sort of protection against the sun and mild northern sunlight. The entrance is also located on the first floor, surrounded by arched cells. The main entrance consists of a creco-climatic system which includes + swaying windows with shutters and sheer venetian blinds.
From the main living area there is an access to a terrace/hangout which connects the terrace and the lagoon. A fully glazed north-south facade offers an unobstructed view of the lagoon and the vegetation. The villa has its own water feature ( granite pool and Water Jordan), an outdoor dining area and barbeque area and also a large 2-car garage. Everything can be access from this outdoor terrace. First the landscaped area to maximize the panoramic views and provides privacy to the guests. The architectural impact is very strong and very beautiful.
